Plans for a community celebration at this year’s Welcome to Hedland were scuttled by restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Undeterred, the organisers at the Town of Port Hedland, with support from the Pilbara Ports Authority, decided to celebrate the town digitally, with neighbourhood businesses, community groups, sporting clubs, local artists, and performers giving an insight into their skills, activities, and operations in online profiles.
The information is featured on their digital ‘stall’ on a website that was launched on 12 June and will run for six months.
The digital event includes an entertainment playlist to peruse, so you can tune in and watch the talent that Hedland has to offer.
Performances of music, dance, art, and culture are available each day after 5pm.
