BHP has donated $100,000 to the Town of Port Hedland to support tree replenishment efforts following Tropical Cyclone Zelia.

TC Zelia crossed the Port Hedland coast on 14 February and caused a significant number of trees to be uprooted and damaged across the Town and nearby regional communities.

The funding will go directly towards replanting native trees in key local areas impacted by the cyclone, ensuring the ecosystem can recover and flourish.

BHP WAIO Asset President, Tim Day emphasised the importance of restoring green spaces to contribute to the town’s long-term environmental recovery.
